Leijona-hockey school is intended for boys and girls aged 5-9. The hockey school implements the Leijona-hockey school, which is directed and supervised by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. The lessons are held in skill-based groups, with approximately ten children per instructor. On the ice, we practice skating and various skills through play and of course by playing ice hockey. In the spring, we will participate in a Hockey school tournament.
The required equipment includes skates, a helmet with a cage, a hockey stick, a neck guard, and (hockey) gloves, although all hockey equipment is recommended. It’s good to have the blades of the skates sharpened. Wear light clothing, as winter clothes are not needed in the ice rink. Here you can watch a video on how to put on the equipment. We also offer the possibility to borrow equipment.
The hockey school is on Sundays from 10:45 to 11:45 at the Malmi Ice Rink (Talttakuja 6, 00700 Helsinki). The spring season is from January 5 to March 30, 2025.

Child-adult skating offers the joy of movement and the happiness of learning! On the ice we learn basic skating skills through play. Parents are on the ice skating with the children. We offer the possibility to borrow equipment so you don't need to have everything right away. The player will need helmet (black), gloves (black), shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee/shin pads, protective cup/pelvic protector, neck guard and hockey pants (black). The player must purchase a player’s license. Licenses are available with or without insurance. If the player has their own insurance that also covers ice hockey, the club must be provided with confirmation of this. The player’s license can be obtained here.
